Our Beginnings
A tribute to Kody & Gia, and the working line legacy they started.
It Started With The Work
Our passion for working dogs — especially German Shepherds and Rottweilers — runs deep. With members of our team having backgrounds in law enforcement, our appreciation for the intelligence, loyalty and drive of these breeds has shaped everything we do.
That is the whole of it, and it is worth saying plainly before anything else on this page: nobody here came to these breeds through a show ring or a waiting list. They came through handling dogs that had a job to do, watching which ones could do it, and eventually deciding to breed the ones that could.
Everything that follows is downstream of that decision — the imports, the titles, the program, and the two dogs the whole thing started with.

How We Got Here
Every entry below is a fact this site can already point at — the imports, a birth year, a score at a named trial, an award with a certificate behind it. Where we do not have a date, there is no entry.
- The Beginning
Working Line Shepherds, Imported From Europe
We expanded the pack with several imported working-line German Shepherds from Europe, including dogs out of Czech Republic border patrol and army kennels — lines known for their discipline, strength and proven working lineage.
- 2015
Estor von Oderhellen Is Born
The dog the Rottweiler program would be built on. What he settled — a world-level competitor's drive with an off switch — is still the standard every Rottweiler we breed is measured against.
- 2019
IGP3 At Debrecen, 273 Of 300
Estor took his IGP3 with 273 of a possible 300 at the Debrecen Trial, on a record running from the foundational BH through IPO1 and AD. Romanian Klub Sieger titles and Best of Breed wins followed, under judges who do not hand them out.
- 2024 — 2025
Canadian Choice Awards, Three Categories
Argos Pet Ranch — the boarding, daycare and grooming arm the dogs live at — took Canadian Choice Awards in Dog Trainers in 2024, then Dog Grooming and Daycare in 2025.
We Don't Breed For Trends
Our breeding program was built on that foundation: a commitment to preserving the drive, structure and stability that define the world's best working dogs. We don't breed for trends or looks alone — we breed for purpose. Each pairing is selected not just for physical traits, but for temperament, genetic health and working ability. Whether destined for service roles, protection work or active family life, our dogs are prepared to excel.
Operating out of Surrey and Langley, we've placed and trained dogs for families, handlers and agencies across Canada, the United States and beyond. Our reach extends internationally — including dogs bred and trained for paramilitary operations in India, as well as law enforcement and private protection work across North America. These placements speak not only to the quality of our dogs, but to the trust we've earned from professionals and families worldwide.
Every pup we produce carries that legacy and is raised in an environment that emphasizes early socialization, structure and mental stimulation. We believe in transparency, ongoing support, and building long-term relationships with the families who take our dogs home. When you bring home a dog from our program you're not just getting a pet — you're joining a legacy of intentional breeding, elite training, and deep respect for what these breeds are capable of.
What Each Arm Does
Argos is one operation in three businesses, run by the same family out of the same corner of Surrey and Langley. This is which of them does what, and where each one lives.
Breeding
Argos Kennels
Chooses the pairings, runs the health screening, and decides which puppy goes to which home. Rottweilers, working-line German Shepherds and Schipperkes, published as records rather than as photographs.
Meet The DogsTraining
Argos K9 Training
Takes a puppy from early socialisation through obedience, and the ones that go further into protection and detection work. Classes, board-and-train, and the specialist work these breeds were built for.

Argos Pet Ranch
Runs out of the same site as the boarding, which is the whole advantage of it: the dog on the table is handled by people who already know it rather than by a stranger with clippers.
